The Experienced course is suitable for operatives who use the Crawler – Tractor/Dozer on a daily basis. Pre-requisites:
Candidates must have successfully passed the CSCS Health, Safety and Environment touchscreen test for Operatives within the past two years.
Course content:
- Describe the nature of the sector of industry and their role and responsibilities as a plant operator - Name and explain the purpose of principal components, the basic construction, controls and terminology - Conform with manufacturer’s requirements as per the operator’s handbook, other types of information source and relevant regulations and legislation - Undertake all pre-use checks - Configure and set for site travel - Travel over rough, undulating ground, substantial inclines and level surfaces - Manoeuvre in confined spaces - Configure and set for excavating duties - Explain actions required for hazards, underground and overhead services - Excavate differing types of excavations in various types of ground - Construct ramps and form and shape stockpiles - Grade, spread and level ground and materials - Carry out shut down and securing procedures - Explain the loading and unloading procedures for machine transporting
Teaching and assessment:
- 1 day learning through a mix of classroom-based teaching and practical exercises - 1 day assessment - CPCS technical tests theory & practical Certification:
CPCS Trained Operator Card (red card) on passing the CPCS technical tests valid for two years.
The course either has new dates in data loading, or is only run as a dedicated or In Company course.
