Course Details

- Roles and responsibilities.

- Regulations and legislation.

- Undertake all pre-use inspection checks.

- Configure and set for compacting duties.

- Travel over rough, undulating ground, substantial inclines and level surfaces.

- Manoeuvre in confined spaces.Actions required for hazards, underground and overhead services.

- Compact loose granular materials to specification.

- Compact in straight lines and around radii.

- Compact supported and unsupported edges.

- Explain the principles, requirements and techniques of good compaction.

Testing

Theory Test – a verbal test with one to one questions with the tester.

Practical Test – a test including:-

- Pre-start and running checks.
- Travel to the work passing through a restriction.
- Drive up and down an incline and on uneven ground.
- Prepare an exclusion zone and set the Ride on Roller for work.
- Compact the straight run.
- Compact the radius.
- Carry out the shutdown and securing procedures.

You will need to undertake a Health & Safety test within 2 years.
