All personnel required to operate a Ride on Road Roller. Course Aims:
To provide the delegate with the basic knowledge and practical skills involved in operating a Ride on Road Roller.
Course Objectives:
- Be able to operate the machine safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and accepted good practice - Carry out pre-shift inspection - Be able to operate safely under varying site conditions - Be able to carry out minor adjustments and routine services - Have sufficient knowledge and practical skills to successfully complete the CPCS Technical Test
Course summary:
Candidates will participate in theory lessons and practical demonstrations / exercises, all of which are highlighted by the use of OHP and video covering:
- An introduction to the Construction Industry - Current relevant regulations - Introduction to the machine - Pre-shift inspections controls and instruments - Coolant, fuel and lubrication systems - Rolling and compacting using and applying correct staggers and overlaps - Maintaining cambers and cross-falls - Compaction of junctions - CPCS Technical Test Theory Element Testing/Certification:
All delegates will complete the full CPCS Technical Test and on successful completion will achieve the CPCS Red Trained Operators Card
Pre-requisites:
All delegates must have a good understanding of the written and spoken English language and have completed the CSCS Health, Safety & Environmental Test for Operatives.
