Who Attends?
This CPCS A04C Tower Crane - Trolley Jib - Remote Controlled Novice/Foundation Course (Formerly known as A63 Pedestrian Operated Tower Crane) is designed for workers that want to gain their CPCS card to work on construction sites within the UK. This is suitable for individuals with little or no experience.
Course Content:
- Theory test tuition and preparation for CPCS Theory Test
- How to operate the crane safely and efficiently.
- Understanding Safe Load Indicators and Overload Warning Devices.
- Responding to and recognising the standard signals for controlling crane operations.
- Understanding the principles of safe slinging, load balance, and lifting gear capabilities.
- Calculating loads and crane capacity.
- Understanding the effects of the working radius on the capacity of the crane.
- Hazard recognition and awareness.
- Minor adjustments and routine maintenance in accordance with the manufacturers and-employers instructions.
- Understanding the purpose of counterweights and how to secure, check, and maintain them.
- Fault finding procedures.
- CPCS Theory and Practical Testing.
Training Methods: The training involves both theory and practical training at the test centre.
Pre-requisites and additional information:
Delegates MUST have passed their CSCS Health, Safety, and Environment Test within the last 2 years (to the date of the actual CPCS tests). Delegates that arrive without having possessing a valid CSCS HSE pass will not be permitted to attend and will lose the full cost of the course.
A passport-approved photograph must be presented to the office in order to apply for the CPCS cards.
Please note that if you do not pass the CPCS Theory Test then you are not permitted to attempt the CPCS Practical Test.
