To provide practical and theory training in operating a Forward Tipping Dumper and Ride on Roller, to enable the candidate to competently and safely carry out the role and pass the CPCS Theory and Practical Tests.
Course Content:
A09 Forward Tipping Dumper:
- Carry out pre-start and running checks - Set the dumper for site and road travel - Travel over different types of terrain - Travel up and down inclines, loaded and unloaded - Position dumper to receive loads - Comply with loading procedures - Discharge loads into trenches and over edges - Place machine in and out of service conditions A31 Ride on Roller:
- Identify the basic construction, purpose and function of components and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges. - Identify and comply with manufacturers’ instructions using the operator’s handbook. - Carry out pre-use and running checks - Set the roller for site travel - Manoeuvre in confined areas using forward and reverse direction - Prepare an area prior to compacting - Compact different materials to given instructions - Place the roller in an out-of-service condition - Recognise compacted and uncompacted areas - State conditions that may cause instability of the roller - State safety procedures when compacting on incline
Test:
To achieve the Red CPCS Trained Operator Card candidates must pass both the CPCS Theory Test and the Practical Test. These tests can be viewed online at www.cskills.org/centreandschool/cpcs. NVQ Plant Operations and CPCS Competence Card:
The Red Trained Operator Card is valid for 2 years. During these 2 years, you must work towards and achieve your NVQ in Plant Operations to upgrade to a Blue CPCS Competence Card.
The course either has new dates in data loading, or is only run as a dedicated or In Company course.
