Introduction
The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 1999 (CoSHH) were originally introduced in 1988. The general principles of carrying out a suitable and sufficient assessment are still one of the main functions. Employers have a duty to assess the processes that use or generate hazardous substances within the workplace to identify the potential of causing harm to their employees and/or others.

Who Should Attend?
Any person with responsibilities for processes that utilise or generate, as by products, hazardous substances. Such people may be Safety Representatives, Safety Managers or Production Managers.
Course Objectives
Delegates will gain:
- A good understanding of employers responsibilities for potentially dangerous substances;
- A practical and theoretical application of the principles of CoSHH assessments;
- Confidence to conduct their own CoSHH Assessments within the workplace.

Morning

- Chemicals (Hazard information and packaging) Regulations 1994

- Personal Protective Equipment
- EH40 and Safety Data Sheets
- Practical CoSHH Assessment
Certification and Assessment
Delegates will be assessed on their input during the practical exercise and their feedback. Course certification lasts 3 years.
