Confined Spaces - Safe Entry, Escape BA, Full Working Self Contained Breathing Apparatus, Emergency Treatment and Use Of Oxygen Resuscitators
 

Who Should Attend
This course is predominantly intended for practical users who need to enter spaces which are substantially enclosed and where there is a potentially hazardous working environment and where your risk assessment has identified the need to provide rescue arrangements. All delegates should have successfully completed a breathing apparatus users medical examination prior to attendance and be physically fit (training cannot be provided for those not satisfying this criteria). If the facilities are suitable an entry or simulated entry exercise may be conducted.


Objectives
This course is designed to ensure that delegates who need to enter such workplaces understand the requirements of the law, the need for risk assessments and safe systems of work and how to apply these practically. This includes competent use of the appropriate equipment, to enable entry to be made safely.

- Legal requirements
- Risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Equipment required to enter a confined spaces
- The purpose and use of gas detection equipment
- The purpose and use of escape breathing apparatus
- The use of ropes and safety harnesses
- The purpose and use of tripods and man riding winches
- Personal protective equipment and hygiene
- Examination, testing and maintenance of equipment
- Ventilation and the avoidance of unsafe atmospheres
- Communication and entry procedures
- The purpose of self-contained working breathing apparatus
- Use of self-contained working breathing apparatus
- Assesing the situation abd deciding the the necessary course of action
- Shock
- Control of bleeding
- Care of the unconscious casualty
- Fractures
- Record keeping
- First Aid equipment
- cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
- Awareness of resuscitation equipment and its purpose
- Use of oxygen resuscitators

Important Information - Please read before you Book
An advance copy of your own safe system of work for Entry into Confined Spaces will ensure that the course takes in all aspects. If you have equipment which your delegates are familiar with, please send it along for use during the exercises (tested and in good working order), otherwise the necessary equipment will be provided. 

People attending this course must be 100% fit and well. 

People who suffer in any way from claustrophobia should not attend this course.

Candidate should inform the trainer of any medical conditions that may affect their ability to fully participate in the course safely e.g. back injuries.

Candidates undertaking the Full BA course are required to undergo a medical and return a medical form, signed by a doctor, confirming their fitness before their Confined Space ID card can be issued.
The course either has new dates in data loading, or is only run as a dedicated or In Company course.
