This course is particularly suited for individuals whose employ brings them in close contact with children such as:
- Child-minders
- Teachers
- Care workers
- Scout and Guide leaders
- Medical professionals
- First Aiders
- Foster workers
Child protection has fast become a must have qualification due to recent events which have been highly publicised in the media. This course is designed to arm child carers with the knowledge to recognise the signs of child abuse, what is regarded as abuse and more importantly what can be done to prevent it from happening.
Pre-requisites: There are no prerequisites to enrol on this course.
Course Aims:
To provide the delegates with the awareness and the ability to act on any concerns about the safety and welfare of children and young people.

- Introduction to risk assessment
- Categories of child abuse
- Indicators of child abuse
- Policies and procedures
- Discuss previous cases of abuse
Assessment Criteria: Continued practical and written skills assessment throughout the course.
Certification:
Upon successful completion of the course candidates will receive a Level 2 Child Protection certificate which is valid for three years.
