The CAT and GENNY course aims to present candidates with the underpinning knowledge and to develop practical skills to be able to use a CAT and GENNY and accessories, to a competent level as part of a safe system of work.
Who Should Attend:
The course is intended for operatives who are required to locate underground services as part of a safe system of work for excavations.
Course Contents:
The aim of the course is to provide delegates with the necessary skills required to locate underground services using utility drawings, including use and maintenance of a CAT and GENNY.
By completing this course you will have a good understanding
of:
- Basic principles of location and avoidance of underground services
- Reading and understanding site plans
- Using a Cable Avoidance tool (CAT) and Signal Generator (Genny) in P, R & C Modes
- Appreciation of difficulties associated with underground service avoidance
- Identifying risks and hazards associated with underground service avoidance
- Hazard avoidance
- Storage and maintenance of equipment
