Our Basic Scaffold Inspection course is ideal for anyone who is in charge of statutory scaffold inspections on basic scaffolding structures.

Scaffolders who want to expand their knowledge of scaffold inspection, site managers and health and safety professionals will also benefit from taking this course.

Scaffolders training and working methods

Accessing a scaffold safelysafe ladder access and egress, and mobile static and loading towers.

How to carry out a scaffolding inspection

Scaffold tagging systems and practical scaffold inspection exercise.

For the assessment

The trainer will look at your involvement in the group exercises; you will also conduct a practical assessment of scaffolding to demonstrate your understanding.

Prerequisite needed before attending this Scaffold Inspection course

You should have knowledge and experience working with scaffolding structures, and hold:

You need to have completed a CITB Health, Safety and Environment test within two years before attending the course.

Alternatively, you can hold an accepted health and safety exemption within two years of the course such as:

  • Completion of CISRS Recognised Scaffolding Apprenticeship Induction (Initial Trainee card only)
  • IOSH Working Safely/IOSH Managing Safely/IOSH Directing Safely/SHE For Constructors Workers/Safety Health & Environment for Construction Site Managers
  • NEBOSH (General/Construction/International) H&S Certificate
  • SMSTS Certificate
  • SSSTS Certificate
  • Site Safety Plus HSA
  • GQA Level 1 Award in Construction Health and Safety
