Course Overview
This Asbestos Awareness course is in line with the requirements as prescribed by the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (Regulation 10) and has been externally assessed by the Independent Asbestos Training Providers (IATP) association.
The covers all areas of asbestos awareness and is designed for anyone who may come into contact with asbestos as part of their work activities. Most commonly, that includes builders, plumbers, electricians, carpenters and other building (or “deconstruction”!) related and maintenance trades however it can be specifically tailored to your sector upon request.
Course Content
The course content includes (but not limited to);
- origins of the mineral,
- exposure health effects,
- typical uses and location of ACMs,
- emergency procedures,
- the regulatory framework including in introduction to Surveys,
- Material Assessment Scores and the Management off Asbestos in Buildings…
Upon successful completion of the 3-4 hr session, all learners will receive a certificate of attendance valid for 12 months; each certificate contains a unique QR code where the certificate validity can be checked on the IATP website.
