Learning Outcome/ Achievement Criteria
At the end of the course learners will:
1. Know about abrasive wheels.
2. Know the health and safety legislation that underpins the operation of abrasive wheels.
3. Know the health and safety requirements for operating an abrasive wheel
4. Be able to carry out a risk assessment relevant to cutting and grinding using abrasive wheels.
5. Know how to interpret the marking system of abrasive wheels.
6. Understand the relationship between speed and wheel selection.
7. Know how to recognise faults and carry out checks on abrasive wheels for cutting and grinding.
8. Be able to change an abrasive wheel.
9. Be able to adjust guards on powered plant.
Achievement is by practical assessment, award is AIM Level 2 certificate
