Course Outline
Course training for the SPA Food and Drink course is over two days. The common SPA core session is the first day of training and ensures that delegates grasp the basics of good health and safety practices.
The secondday is focused on hygiene and food safety when working with food and drink, including, contamination (sources and effects), use of protective clothing, personal hygiene, environmental issues and waste disposal, and control measures to reduce risks.
Note:- The SPA passport schemes currently recognise exemptions from the SPA Core Day for delegates who have completed and passed the following training courses and have 3 months or more remaining on their evidence of exemption. These exemptions include:
• CCNSG Passport to Safety
• IOSH Working Safely, IOSH Managing Safely or IOSH Supervising Safely
• NEBOSH Certificate or NEBOSH Diploma
• CITB SSSTS, CITB SMSTS, or CITB Site Safety for Shopfitters and Interior Contractors
• CIEH Basic Health and Safety (replaced by Level 2)
• FÁS Safe Pass
• ADT H&S module
• Rentokill SHE Training module
Those who successfully complete the requirements of the two-day SPA training course and assessment will achieve certification, which is valid for three years
