PRINCE2® Training
Projects IN Controlled Environments (PRINCE®) training was originally developed and launched by the UK government in 1990 and further developed to PRINCE2® in 1996. It is known as the “de factor project management standard” as it uses a generic framework that can be used for a wide range of industries.
PRINCE2® has been through a number of revisions since the 90s to bring it to its current iteration, including the addition of international elements, increased focus on flexibility and scalability and qualification standards. PRINCE2® is a trademark of the Office of Government Commerce (OGC).
PRINCE2® training is available at both Foundation and Practitioner level.
• Standard - for those who have not worked with the PRINCE2® process before, although should have experience working within project management or on projects. Topics include introduction to PRINCE2®, PRINCE2® processes, components and techniques.
• Practitioner - aimed at those who have already taken the Foundation course and lays a firm grounding on using the PRINCE2® method to real world workplace projects. Topics include more indepth training on PRINCE2® processes and sub processes, components such as organisation, business cases and risk management and techniques.
Successful completion of PRINCE2® training results in either a PRINCE2® Foundation or Practitioner qualification.
DSDM Atern™ Training
DSDM Atern™ training looks at the agile project delivery framework Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM). This is compatible with other management approaches such as PRINCE2® and enables delegates to focus on the root causes of software project failures and how projects can be better managed to come in on time, on cost, whilst retaining quality and results.
There are a number of DSDM Atern™ training courses from the very initial overview of what the DSDM Atern™ framework is, to more in-depth coverage of governance issues, roles, skills and the 80/20 approach that advocates pragmatism on a DSDM project.
Delegates may choose to take a DSDM Atern™ training course to projects efficiently, improve their approach to project delivery and improve team collaboration through a business.
Non-accredited training courses
Outside of the accredited options available, it is also possible to sit a wide range of non-accredited training courses to aid project management including:
