One of the most popular courses available from the CITB is the Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme, or the SSSTS course. Aimed directly at those who require an understanding of the legal duties that concern site safety, such as first line managers, team leaders, foremen, gangers, and supervisors, this course helps them to develop an understanding of their legal responsibilities so that they can play a bigger part in supervising, instructing, and monitoring site safety.
For those who are in junior management in the construction industry, the course is a first step to a basic understanding of the duties and responsibilities that they have as it relates to on-site health and safety. CITB Levy Payers have grants available to them for these courses.
This site safety training course covers several different elements:
As part of the course, candidates will also be taught about the necessity of method statements and how risk assessments are carried out. They will also be given a basic understanding of how to prevent and control fire, as well as how to control hazardous substances. Other elements covered will include construction design management regulations (CDM), working at height, accidents and first aid.
You can book your place on a site safety training course in a number of ways, but you need to know how many delegates will be applying. Safety training courses are often run as courses open to the public, but where there are a number of delegates to be trained there is also the option of looking for an In Company course run at the client’s own venue.
If you are looking to book either for an individual or a group, it is best to speak to a company who can assess your needs with confidence and find the best course in terms of price and location possible. You can contact us either online or by phone to discuss your options today.
