Choosing the Right IEMA Course
IEMA courses are accredited by the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) and are suitable for those responsible for environmental management and/or will be carrying out environmental audits within their organisation.
Who are IEMA?
IEMA are the ‘worldwide alliance of environment and sustainability professionals’; the aim of IEMA is to make businesses and organisations future-proof for global sustainability.
IEMA provide tools and resources to aid research and knowledge, including the IEMA courses which provide qualifications for professionals to take their careers to the highest level.
Those who wish to become members of IEMA can join at a level applicable to them; levels available are:
- Student
- Affiliate
- Graduate (GradIEMA)
- Associate (AIEMA)
- Practitioner (PIEMA)
- Full (MIEMA)
- Fellow (FIEMA)
Do you have to become a member to sit an IEMA course?
No – you can sit a course as a non-member, which will stand you in good stead should you wish to join as a member afterwards. A graduate who wants to earn GradIEMA status would have to prove that they had completed an IEMA approved degree course before earning this.
IEMA Course Options
IEMA courses are available throughout the UK, typically as open public courses at a location to suit. However, it is possible to arrange dedicated courses at a specific venue should the number of attendees be large enough. It is best to discuss this with the company you are using to book.
